Blowing up an image?
OK. I have a 300x300 logo here. I need to blow it up to about 3000x3000. I don't know squat about photoshop, but was told I could do it in that. I tried blowing it up as high as possible with paintshop pro, but could only get it to 1300x1300 without it getting pixelated like crazy. even at 1300 it's a little pixelated.
there's no way to smooth it out? maybe take the original 300x300 image and the new blown up 3000x3000 image and sort of tell it to compare the colors and smooth it out to look like a bigger version? i dunno what i'm talking about here. so stop me before i make myself look like a bigger ***.
can you post the image? i'll see if i can do anything to help you out. i can't guarantee any good results though, usually what the program does is create new pixels that will be as close a possible to original ones, but that always comes out a bit distorted and pixelated, especially when you want to blow it up by 10x its' orginal size. if it's a fairly simple logo though, i can try re-create it.
You could print it or better yet, put it on a cd and get a photo shop to print it out, so the die sublimation process will get most of the pixelation off. Then you can scan it at a higher resolution. That should help. But there are some smothing functions in photo shop but from 300x300 to 3000x3000 it is unlike they will make a signifigant difference.
hmmm.. printing it off on a sheet of paper then re-scanning is a great idea actually. it's not a simple logo. it's like a 3D globe kinda thing with the company name in the middle.
