Default engine conversion

I have a 1965 mustang coupe with a 6 cylinder. I want to convert it to a 302 with a five speed transmission. I need to know what kind of transmission and rear end to put in it.

Default RE: engine conversion

I'm wondering what to do for my 66 GT as well! Answer: all it takes is MONEY! I've thought about a 4-bolt main Dart SBF Block w/ forged internals 331 ci ( for reliability) with Digital Fuel Injection and flat top forged pistons (to keep compression down to about 9-1 so I can install a ProCharger later)! If you look around eBay, you will find all sorts of engine builders (just be careful). I'd suggest finding someone in your local area who has a LOT of experience and excellent reputation for building the kind of engine you want. You can get a good engine for around $5K and super engines will run WAY up above $20K. Of course if you want the best engine and don't mind cutting out your shock towers & doing a different suspension and steering, then you can find an 03-04 Terminator Engine & you'll have one sweet (but VERY QUICK) ride! Check out the Supercharged DOHC 5.4 Lincoln engine & T-56 we put in my son's 02 Mustang. Search on www.gotstang.com for Tribalstang.

ok here it goes. If you have an unlimited amount of money you could put a 427 in there, but im guessing if you had unlimited money you would already be done..... A good match up for the 302 would be the TKO more beefy than a t-5, just incase you want to startmaking some real power later. Also if your going to change rears put a nine inch. They are damn near indestructable.
