How do u guys drive??
dont misunderstand what i am saying. i do not hang turns or do 90 thru school zones !! i just mean i like to punch a few times while driving. i live in atlanta so there are lots of open big roads. ........

But in general, I drive 5-10mph over (which is about standard for CA), depending on the area, and I pay great attention to other drivers. I actually tend to drive faster in newer, less powerful cars than I do in my car. It's just not as safe to drive at the vehicle's limits.
I just drive the speed of traffic of slightly below on freeways, my car doesn't like to go high speeds. Around town I think I drive rather normally as well, but I will take of a little faster or pass cars here and there just because I love the torque. I consider myself a very safe driver, I'm very observant and look at everything going on around me and can keep great track of cars in my mirrors and all that.
I might drive a little more aggressively if I'm showing my car off to a friend for the first time, or if I'm in a strange mood, but I'm never unsafe about it. I've come to enjoy cruising more, especially with how hungry my car is for gas.
Also, after getting pulled over by a motorcycle cop after I took off a little too fast and chirped the tires I've calmed down even more. He never got off his bike, just pulled up to my window and yelled at me
That was a while ago now though, lesson learned and still ticket free.
I also might go a little faster if people are staring at me too much... I get uneasy

I used to drive mine like it was hell on wheel, but I've calmed down a little bit, especially after my first. Mine is my daily driver so I really can't afford to break stuff on it by beating the crap out of it, but that's not to say that I don't get on it a few times a week. Another thing that keeps me driving it normal is that fact that if I get too many tickets, I won't be able to drive the engine or ambulance. :P
I obey all the traffic rules, except the speed limit. Depending on the road conditions, I'll go over a bit, but nothing stupid. On the freeway out in the desert and closer to home (if it was late at night), I drove way over the limit (70) and that's all I'll say here.
I am an extremely considerate, safe, and textbook driver, other than the speeding way out of town. I make full stops at limit lines at stop signs, and use turn sigs. I usually use hand sigs as well from habit. Once you learn how to drive the correct way and it becomes habit, you never have to look in the rear-view for a cop, and more importantly, you greatly lessen putting people in danger.

Used to drive like a squirrel in the Cougar, burnouts, too fast, stupid stuff like that. Then I almost wadded up my 72 GTO when the throttle stuck open, a 400 Pontiac has a bit more power than a 302 2v. First lesson learned. As my cars got faster I would find out what they would do. Like a 79 Trans Am running 145mph down a deserted two lane in BFE Nerbaska, 140 on Bahn 5 outside Frankfurt in a 79 Formula, and racing on deserted stretches of road late at night with both of them.
As I have gotten older, and bought more tires, rebuilt more engines, and decided that going 0-120 in 11 seconds on the highway isnt a good idea, I have slowed down a bit. I still open up the daily driver, on ramps are still fun, and I can merge with whatever spot I chose on the interstates, plenty of power and big brakes and you can find just the right spot easy. Still I like to get moving, and I like the feeling of being shoved in my seat. I dont drive with the crowd because they are dangerous and always seem to want to take the spot I am occupying. Being aware of everything going on around me has helped me avoid the morons who seem to enjoy wrecking everything they drive.
The 98 Formula should do around 150 before the limiter kicks in, but I have yet to see over 90 in it. I have a race car, and the 98 is just the car i get around in or take on a long trip, its my economy car. Even when driving one of my cars with more than 500hp I tend to drive somewhat slow, unless people are tailgating me, then I will put some distance between us, but safely. Just knowing my car can cover 60 feet in a second and a half is enough for me, knowing it will run 120+ in the 1/4 is enough, no need to prove it because I have time slips that do that.
No need to be a squirrel and squeal your tires all the time. Kids in the slow cars seem to do that more often, I think they are compensating for something. You can still have fun, but no need to go more than 10 over unless you are trying to outrun the alien invasion or zombies.
