HELP HELP HELP!
I have a 65 mustang and I was swapping trannies and now im stuck. I had the dinky 2.77 tranny in it and 2nd gear took a dive with the whole family in it on a joy ride
. Anyway I got a 3.03 tranny and got the flywheel, 157 tooth clutch 9", and the pressure plate all together, BUT now I got a bellhousing from craigslist and I think it s wrong one. The serial number is c5da6394-a and the the tranny is c8ap7006 is all I saw. Could someone out there please give me the serial number for the correct bellhousing I need and from what vehicles it came out of to research. Thanks to all that can help.

I have to admit to not knowing part numbers, I research the numbers if I really, really, need to, but I usually buy by application.
Say if I know the bell housing I need came on a 68 Mustang with a 4 speed I buy that one.
Application info is sometimes easier to deal with at the parts counter than part numbers.
That said, we can keep this up til some folks who might have the numbers responds.

the bellhousing is not lining up the the 2 extra bolt holes I have with the 6cyl I have. Its off by maybe a 1/16 of an inch and also the rest of the bolt holes are not lining up. Shoould I use a scatter shield or.... im confused at this point.
Ouch, I know even less about 6 cyl and the aftermarket is going to be all but non existent for a bell, ummm was the tranny you are using ever used on a 6 Mustang or even a pick up truck?
If so the bell for that particular application will work, but an even better idea would be for you to check with the folks at fordsix.com those folks know their stuff.
