MSD electronic ignition
This is just my two cents. I would go with a Pertronix Ignitor and keep the factory distributor. That will eliminate the points and should make the car run better.
The MSD is not going to do much if anything for your application. I don't care much for MSD anyway.

The biggest difference will be that you don't have to change points anymore. It may start a bit easier but rolling down the road you won't notice a thing. If it should fail you better be carrying a spare unless there are a lot of places around you that carry them in stock. At least with points, if they fail you can adjust thenm and be on your way.
- get a pertronix ignitor.
- have your distributor recurved to spec
- set timing
job done. would be the same opinion here
I agree with the Pertronix ignition. The guy I bought my engine from explained it to me and how it was better than MSD, so I'm going with the Pertronix. Nor do I won't to drop more money on an MSD anyways.
$85,000 per motor, look between the 2 blowers and you'll find a blue MSD 6M box (rev limited is stuffed in there too). They're 1550hp on race fuel or 1150hp on pump gas with a mere 1100ft/lbs of torque and they'll run ***** out for hours at a time, they're not 1/4 mile drag motors.
Just razzing ya, you know I need to do this at least once a day
, Pertronix is fine in our applications. I'll be running a msd dual ignition setup like we ran in our race boat.
Ya pertronix is awesome on an I6.I have had an MSD module crap out on the highway.Didnt like it.MSD only works below 3000 rpm(read the manual). The only gain I can see is the rev limiter and all the other things like crank triggers. The multiple spark is debatable.
