Default 1966 convertible 4 lug

I need some help... I purchased a 1966 converible with 4 lug front and rear spindles. The engine was replaced with a 289 and so I am told I need to up grade the front end. My questions is..Is it cheaper to try to find a parts car for the spindles and rear end or purchase the parts? Also what year parts car should I be looking for?

Forgive me if you know this already but you need to swap out a lot more than the spindles. The above article is from CJ Pony Parts talking about a V8 Swap.

Before you start buying parts, you need to find out what has already been changed during the V8 conversion.

We,ve help folks many times over the years with this very task.

IF, you can find a V8 Donor--65 66 Mustang only, then all the parts will bolt on. The Rear end is the specific piece that has to be 65 66. 67 up will not work. Price has to be resaonible, Left up to your research/budget.

To be Precise, the Front spindles will be C5DA/C4ZA, all others are "Will fit-IF" parts.

Some of us Older establishments still have the Original Rear ends, Spindles in stock.

Dan are u saying that a rear end from anything older than a 66 will not work? I have been tolsd that I need an 8 to 9 inch rear end. Also you said that you have done this before. Got a ball park figure on total cost?

No, the 65 Mustang will work fine. Yes, the 5 bolt will be 8 or 9".

$1800.00 No labor of course involved in price.

Can you recommend a good parts company and a good kit for the front end.
