Default got hit by a baseball

I was taking my '66 GT to the local Cabela's for their BBQ festival today, and while sitting in a little traffic near a baseball field, a foul ball nailed my hood! There is a pretty good dent in there and the paint is scuffed (you can actually make out the laces from the ball). Already filed a claim and I'm waiting to hear back from the owner of the park (private park) to see if any sort of restitution will be made. So bummed right now.

That is a small dent see if you can get paint less dent removal done on it.

yeah you definitely might be able to get it done with a paint less dent repair...if they can get that worked out then the scuffs will be polished out with a buffer

Do you have comprehensive insurance? Mine on my '99 GT will cover stupid stuff like that and deer accident damage for a $100 deductible.

I had worse from a baseball, was taken out 100% by Paintless Ding on my hood.

The guy took 20 minutes, half of which was BSing with me. I'm really picky, I couldn't even tell where it was before.

The minor scuff on yours can be buffed out later.

On a side note, even though the paintless ding was a lot cheaper than typical paint/body work, PDR is way less invasive, keep your paint original. Even if I had to pay the same amount of money, I would always go the PDR way.

I love the paint less dent removal its faster and your car will still have the same paint so years later it won't fade funny and be 2 different shades.I'm not knocking any body shop they can match paint good but new paint vs old paint will fade differently,Just look at cars in a parking lot some are a different shade on part of the car.

Yea, another one for dent less route. $60 vs. $400 to reprint the whole hood.

Well, the paintless route was not an option as it turns out. The dent was right where one of the underside of the hood had some bracing, making it double walled. No dice there. Luckily, I had enough paint left that my painter was able to fix the dent, spray 3 coats of base over the affected area then all new clear over the whole hood. I picked it up today and it looks great.
Still no word from the ball park on covering my deductible. Although, they did call this weekend to try and get my insurance agent's info, saying that they could not make out all the digits in his phone number on the message he'd left for them. While on the phone, they said that the very next day, another ball took out a windshield, and that NOW they are going to have to put up some more nets... Sounds like an admission of liability to me...
