Hi, I just replaced a battery in my '68 289 hardtop. Was there supposed ot be a clamp or something? The battery juist kinda sits there....makes me NEEEEEERRRRRRRVVVVVVVVVVVOOOOOUUUUUUUUSSSSSS! Thanks in advance!

Yes there was a battery clamp that came on it from the factory. You can pick it up in just about any resto book or maybe even your local pasts store.

 

Lou, the battery hold down is located on the right side of the battery at the bottom and connects to the battery tray. There should be a lip on the bottom of your battery where the metal hold down fits to keep the battery from moving. Be sure to get one soon, as you don't want the battery to turn over when you make a turn. Here is a pic of mine, so maybe you can get a little better idea of what to get.
