That would be a great find! Ford never installed that engine in the street Mustangs, it was built for racing.

SOHC in a 67?
First you dont just drop it in the spring towers have to be alterd my Dad had a 65 A/FX 427 Mustang fastback only 15 built by Hollman Moody your looking at $$$$$$$$$$$$ to get it in the car.

$5000 is a real cheap they go for $25,000
If I new the guys number it would be sold but good luck open your wallet its a big task ahead.

Dick Wood a factory Ford team racer of the 60-70's has a shop in Hayward Calif he can fab it for you remember Ed Terry & Dick Wood FORD racing team? if interested let me know

you need to modify the enginebay a little, its not wide enough for a 427. but itll be worth it. 5k is a great buy,

Default Cammer in a 67?

Cobra200R is spot on - It would be difficlt to find an unmolested rebuildable regular 427. But a cammer, and new in a crate?... for five grand??? If you find a big block car, a standard 427 will go in. You'll need to use GT heads and exhaust manifolds, or Hooker headers to make the exhaust work. To put a cammer in you are looking at a major project and big bucks. I'd suggest that you get some numbers off that motor and talk to the guys at the Ford FE Forum. They are a wealth of knowledge and good guys.

It wont be that bad .. Just remove some sheetmetal from the 67, just save the parts like the fender wells. If people can put 429/460 into 68/69s then a 427 will also fit. gonna have to relocate your battery. Differnt springs and motor mounts . If he really has a 427 then you a lucky guy , run the numbers off the block . Those motors are real rare so good luck.
