She wont run.
REturned home from college this weekend to work on my baby, (68 stang w/ 37k orig. miles). AFter several hours of attempts to get her runnin i removed the plugs and found them gas soaked. and bad. Took the torch to the plugs and fired em up and cleaned em off and put them back in. got her to run and began moving stuff out of the way to bring her out but i hadta turn it off cuz of all the fumes n what not. when i was ready to take her out it wouldnt fire back up again. any suggestions? also i am thinkin about runnin a pertronix ingnitioin system and wires any good plug ideas?

If the pertronix ignition system you're thinking about is the box that replaces the points in your distributor, I wouldn't use it. I tried it on my 65 coupe and the timing wouldn't hold

so any ideas or suggestions of how to fix the problem of it not starting back up. im pretty sure its something in the fire dept. cuz the plugs were soaked, but if i put new plugs in wont they just become fouled out too?
Tyler made a good point but i wouldn’t think that it would flood a second time especially semi warm. You could always check one plug to see if it’s wet. If they are dry check to make sure the choke is working well you could also check spark strength from the coil to a ground and make sure the plug wires are still in good shape.
How did it sound when it ran? How old is the fuel did the exhaust smell funny?

after it wouldnt start i actually removed all the plugs and torched the gas off them again, let em cool down and then put em back in. i actually dont have the electric choke hooked up right now and i have jus been drippin a lil gas down the top of the carb. the fuel is fresh but the exhaust did smell a bit funny, maybe just some shlack sittin in the bottom of the tank.
