Default Difference(s) between '67 / '68 / '69 Mustang...?

Hey all,

Ive been in the auto industry for a few years now, but only been interested in the older Mustangs recently. I can't however tell the difference between the 1967, 1968, and 1969 models, even after looking at two ('67 and '68) today in person; it also doesn't help that the owner of the 'classic car shop' didn't know either.

He was however able to tell me that the 64-66 models shared the same frame as another Ford vehicle, and 67-69 had its own frame, but anything other than that was byond his knowledge. So, for anyone who could please help me distinguish between these models it would be very much appreciated.

-Colin

P.S. I am aware that the Shelby models have different air intake scoops

67 and 68 are pretty much the same thing, there are some small differences though. 69 was bigger, easiest way is to look hood, 69 has a thick body line in the middle. 67/68 is just a rib.

in regards to the diff. between a 67 and a 68 there are two big external differences.

1. The pony on the grill is different
2. 1968 models have side marker lights on the front fender and rear quarter.

best thing to do is get a mustang id book and read it, then the other thing you can do is go to your local car shows and look at the diffrent years
if you can try to find a show that is a ford only show to look at mustangs
