depending on the condition of the car and how much time you want to put into it i would strip it down to the frame and put work my way up. Like i would put the suspension, brakes, and then move on up to the body panels. i would get it painted later down the road and i would put the engine and transmission in last.

If your 15 and plan on using this car as your daily driver once you get your licence then I will have to say that safety (even if you were not a new driver) is the number one.... so in my opinion is that the ability to stop is #1 and the suspension of the car is #2 because as long as you can stop that's all that matters...

I had a bad experience recently, I didn't realize that my breaks were out of adjustment (I just thought that all around drum breaks sucked that much) and somebody pulled out in front of me and basically my front breaks were not doing anything it was only my rear breaks and as a result I didn't stop/slow down in time and hit the car that pulled out in front of me.... now it wasn't my fault because I tried everything to avoid the accident and he did pull out in front of me (in the middle of the night without his lights on oh yeah and didn't stop at his stop sign) but the good news is that I didn't have much of any damage on my car (haven't started doing body work yet anyway) and I screwed his car over pretty good for it too... anyway, I got a little off track so back to what I was trying to say...

The point is safety first, I still don't have a stereo in my car because Ive been fixing break lines and such... oh and be patient I'm nowhere near where I thought I would be (restoration wise) when I first got my car because whats the saying around here? "one step forward and two steps back". It will pay off though and you will be proud to say that that's your car once you have put the time and effort in to it to make it a nice car...

Thanks. KBunny you should get some pics up of the car after the accident. So I guess I'm getting a compression tester and new brakes. Any suggestions on where to get discs for a decent price?

One thing that would help everyone get an idea as to what to guide you on to upgrade first is, how much money you have to spend. That has a big impact as to what you should focus on first in order to get it road worthy.

I pretty much just spend as I gain. This summer I'll probably make about $3000-4000.

i would suggest replacing or rebuilding the breaks
i didnt rebuild mine when i got the can and bam when i was driving down main st the breaks went out.
if you dont want to do a lot of work on the breaks atleast get a dual bown master cylinder. if something goes wrong you will atleast have a little stopping power
