Default Headliner

Has anyone ever installed a headliner in an early coupe? If so, was it hard?

The hardest part is having to remove the windshield and rear window, then replace them after the headliner is in. I didn't have the patience for it, so I had mine done by a pro.

I'm doin the install of the headliner right now. Now do you think it is NECESSARY to remove that rear window, or can it be tucked in under the seal and glued in.

It is my understanding that the 67 and up didn't have to remove the windows. But, I know for a fact that the 65 and 66 have to have them removed if you want a decent looking liner when you are through. Another difficult part is stretchig the corners so they look right.

I was just pulling all of my past M&Fs to find the various headliner install instructions. It sure doesn't look like fun. The way I do things, I might have to buy a couple of them.

does a new headliner kit come with the metal rods that hold it against the roof of the car?

I just bought the headliner and had a pro install it. Mine didn't come with the metal rods. I don't see why you would need to order those anyway. Meaning, the ones you already have are probably good to go.
