Default jba shorty headers

im looking into buying some jba shorty headers for my 65 mustang with a 302. on all the sites it says that for 65 and 66 model mustangs it requires "tall" engine mounts and minor shock tower modifications. i was just wondering if anyone know how much work this would be and if the jba's are really worth it. Thanks!

I looked a JBA until I looked at the price. Man they are just way too much. I was working on a T5 conversion in 67 and was going to run the stock linkage. I never got a warm fuzzy that the headers would work on my set up. I went with equal length MAC long tube. I like um.

No problems. Your C4 tranny yoke should work on that T5. You need a shorter drive shaft and you need to decide if you are going to run a stock bell housing with stock linkage or a T5 bell housing with a cable linkage. If you are going with the JBA headers go with the T5 housing and the cable linkage. Things will be much easier for you.

67t5ponycoupe is right, but I would recomend a hydraulic clutch. Its kind of a pain to install, but works well.

I have a set of JBA shorty headers on my '65 fastback... no mods to the shock towers or engine mounts. They are expensive (especially for ceramic) but worth the investment. Here's a pic of the JBA headers installed with the H-pipe.

I like the doug thorley tri-y's - 1 3/4" - They also have those stock 289 HIPO headers aftermarket for a few dollar bills that give you that stock look...

yeah my jba's have the chrome peeling off a little so i was thinking of the tri-y's to replace them since someone told me chrome shops wont re-chrome headers. but if theres a big performance differnence then i probably wont.
