Bracket Color?
We discussed this color of the grille at length last week. We discovered that the factory color of the grille should be Argent, which is silver and Black mixed so that you get a dark gray color. There is light, medium and dark argent colors. The darker you get, the more black is added to the paint. Now, which brackets are you talking about? Here are a couple of shots of my 65 grille and brackets. Which one are you referring to? To answer your question, I don't know about the color of the brackets. All I know is that mine are the same color as the grille.

Ford sometimes referred the color of the grille as "Gun Metal Gray"

Thanks for handling that question. I got really tired of the "what color is the grill" post.

Ok guys,In my post I never asked what color the grill should be, I’m asking about the grill bar brackets! The two small brackets that hold the grill bars to the grill. Read people, don't just assume when you see grill, that I'm asking what color the grill should be. Pay attention, man you guys are slacking! Just kidding, here's a picture of the bracket!
Go back and look at the first picture I took just for you, and you will see my finger pointing at that bracket. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother.
And, the color of the brackets you posted are the right color. Gun metal gray....ie. Argent.

Charcoal Blue was the color. See NPD Paint AGP-GP on page 194.
I have since changed the the latch, bolts, horn bolts. They should all be phosphate and oil finish.

Does it really matter what nomenclature (a real word BTW
) you call it? The original question is whether or not the brackets are the same color as the grille. BTW, a grill is something you cook food on.
I say that it is. Any proof otherwise?
