I'm betting on the alternator as a possiblity. Charge the battery with a 110 volt charger and see if she starts. then take the alt to the parts store and have it checked. Just a thought, Dean

It's gotta be one of the two, so have them both checked.

Well, this is wierd. I just got to my car and she started right up, no problems. I don't see anything wrong in the engine bay and I drove her for a good 15minutes. It is about time I replace my alternator anyways, so hopefully it holds on until I get a new one.

Sounds like you have a dead spot in the starter.

yeah that sounds very connectionish........something not touching by just a atom's width and its dead....then just opening the door or sitting down can jiggle it enough to touch and away you go....magic!

how close is your exhast to your starter if it is too close the starter will heat up and not work until it cools off, then it will work as normal.
