Default cleaning the coolant system

unfortunatly, when i drained my anti-freeze, i noticed an uncomfortable amount of brown water. plus the visible rust all over the inside of the block where the coolant travels and etc. what if I use some type of heavy duty rust remover and fill up the engine's water passages or whatever they're called. i assume it would help but if i dont drain it all, could it cause a problem in the future? any opinions?

Billy, don't use any engine or radiator flush acid. You will just chunk off more rust and it will collect in your radiator. Just do an engine/radiator flush with clear water. Get an in-line radiator hose flush "T" and hook it up to the garden hose. Plug it in, and then run the engine with the rad cap off. Here is a pic of where that "T" goes. After you start to see clear water, shut it off and drain all the remaining water through the **** at the bottom of the radiator. Close that and fill it with a mixture of anti-freeze and water. You might need tp use a 30/70 mixture. http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL326.../138402220.jpg
