Default Header hitting shifting linkage

So after finally workin on the stang a little more I cant seem to figure out how to fix this.

This is a 67 stang with a 302.

The Headers are flowtech long tubes.

The auto shifting linkage is hitting the header. When i tighten the header completly i cant even move the shifter. Here are some pix to kind of show u.

I need help desperatly

Thanks,
-joe

Dont have access to a welder at home unless i can find someone who has a small one. Or my autoshop has one but to get it there might be a problem.

Cant really move the headers down.

Im sure someone has had this problem before

Its about fabraction man, im sure people have had this prob b4 too but it looks like no one has on this fourm. My suggestion would be to sell your long tubes and go buy some shorties. Just a thought

You do have a couple of options. There are adjustable motor mounts you can buy for a couple hundred, or you can get the 68 frame mounts that are about 1" lower than 67. This will change the angle of the dangle and you will hopefully be good.

PS, call flowtech and ask them what the deal is. Usually a munufacturer tries to give tech support to their products to aviod unhappy customers.

Adjustable motot mounts ain't gonna help. It may lower the motor but it will not change the relationship between the trans and motor. It will just lower everything. If you have to modify something modify the linkage. That will be much easier than modifying the header. If you don't need much you can knock a dent in the header with a hammer.

That was my original plan. It starts at the beginning of the collector and ends i think before the flange.
