Default Starter Problem???

okay as some of u know....i screwed up my wiring a few days ago with the fan blade cutting it all...but every wire was put back together, completely fixed, and everything works so im pretty much assuming thats not the problem here.....all lights, signals, horn....everything electrical works.....but sometimes the engine wont crank at all......

is this a bad starter??? how can i tell??? i drive my car everyday for 15-20 minutes just to keep everything from sitting and getting stale and crappy and what not.....so i go out there today and go to start it....it kinda cranks then stops....then wont crank for like 20 minutes.....i gave up....walked inside, got a coke, came back out, first tirn of the key the thing fires up, roaring like a bear.....

it ran great for at least an hour of driving today....turn it off, turned it back on, starts up great.....

it just does that no start thing sometimes and i dont know why....does anyone know what the problem could be???

when it wont crank take a tire iron and wack the starter just enough to shake everything inside. that should do it. the brushes are worn so they wont always contact the right points.

Do not whack the starter. If cut wires going to the soleniod then that is the problem. The pic you posted yesterday had the small red wire going to the soleniod broken. It had a blue lug where it goes on the soleniod. Did you fix that? That is the wire that tells the starter to crank. Smack the starter! I freaking swear!

if you give the solenoid a nice hard tap on the top, while supporting it with the other hand that could help you out....happens to me once in a while. also, is it hot when your having these problems? sometimes a hot starter doesnt like to roll over.

You have got to be kidding me! The wires got cut and everyone telling you it is the starter and the soleniod. IT IS THE FREAKING WIRING!

the thing about it is that even before the wires were cut it would do that.....so its hard to pin point that as the culprit.....i guess if i can find out the right wiring harness for all those wires i can jsut redo all the wires again.

might be completely off here, but make sure the battery cables are nice and tight and free of corrosion.

its a pretty new battery and the cables are 100% clean....everything works except the starting sometimes like lights and horn and all that so its not the battery or cables from it......
