bench seats?

I've seen the bench in the 65-66 models, but was it an option in the 67-68's?? I've never seen one.

OK Slick, show him yours.
OK Slick, show him yours.
it looks good, but not really going to go with what i want. if i ever find one that has a bench in it you damn well better believe i'm stealing that SOB!
well thats my point....i like it in original sense....but i had my heart set on a black mustang and it would of killed me to tear off that nice paint so i just passed on it....it was a decision made in the cars interest.
mine came with a bench seat. tho that's up in the attic right now and it wont be seeing the car again for a while. i wasn't aware how rare they were. i know 67 produced 400,000 cars roughly, and of that, about 8,000 had bench seats. yea, i guess that is rare. it will definitely be going back in.
It was a very rare option in 1966. There were a total of 499,751 Hardtops made in that year and of them only 21,397 of them had a bench seat 66. In fact this option was more rare in 1967... 1969 was the last year this option was offered. Here is the list in order by percentage (most rare to less rare) based on the coupe production numbers.

Yeah the 256 you see under the the 68 in fastbacks with deluxe bench is the same one my dad owns. Its raven black gt 390 with maroon deluxe bench seat, and a 4 speed. According to Marti auto works, his particular car is one of 3 and as far as my research goes in th gt registry, there is only his left in the world, so the very rare. They were even more uncommon in 67-68's with a 4 speed becasue the biggest problem is you cant get the car into 4th beacsue the seat is in the damn way!!!
hey slickman, whats that other **** on your door panel? is that for the mirror?
do the bench seats mount in the same holes as the buckets?
what years are the bolt pattern the same? ie if i found a seat out of a different year, could i put it in if i got the upholstery for my year car? it sounds the 65-70 had the same pattern. is that correct? will 66 uphostery fit another years seat?
