Default carb adjustment

had a friend help me adjust the mixture on my 600 holly today. Now if I down shift coming to a stop it dies but will start right back up. Is the mix to lean or to rich

What did you adjust the idle mixture screws or the jet size? Either way I would say richen up the idle mixture screws and see what happens. Did it die before or is it a new install?

You understand that the mixture screws only affect mixture at idle. The only way to adjust mixture at normal rpm is to rejet it.

I was thinking of rejetting it but figured why not try adjusting it. Aleast I wouldn't be sitting a light with my eyes watering.

If it is at the light idling where you are having problems the mixture screws will do it. You may not need to rejet if you pull your plugs and you have a good color and burn on them.

You may need to replace the power valve. Is your cam stock or after market and if after market what are the specs?
