Default DSS or T&L

I'm considering a shortblock from either DSS or T&L - TL says nothing about 306's on their site (i'm not fond of strokers) and I'm planning 400 ponies in my... pony. Slapped on a Tremec T-5. Now... who would you guys recommend build me a shortblock? DSS built a friends 306 shorty and it's been running like a champ for 4 years now. 350 at the crank. Never really heard much about T&L and wether or not they make 306 shorty's. I've emailed them a few quick ?'s with nothing back from them.

What do you all think?

Tom and the crew at DSS are a few blocks away from me and I would steer clear of them, but thats just me. There are a TON of builders to choose from. Why DSS?

check out the link soaring listed about the afr heads go get a low mileage explorer motor fro mthe junkyard sell the heads(gt40 or gt-40ps) sell the intake (budget gt40) and it will pay half the cost of the motor for u then buy the afr heads and a better cam( the explorer cam is different than the 5.0ho cam)

To give you guys a better idea - I'm looking to push 375-400.... but then again... maybe not so much cuz she'll be driven damn near every weekend the weather permits. She's not going to be a trailer queen or strip car. Maybe I'll take a roll down the track every now and again for fun. But she'll be mostly my weekend street rod. I figure 375 in a car that weighs 2600 is plenty power to smack 99% of the punks that drive GM's (vette's, ram air, the usual 18 year old in his camaro, etc.) I'll have to take a look around at shops to see what they offer.

That is exactly what I want. One of the guys on this forum said he will be ordering from T&L in a couple of weeks, so I will wait to hear from him.

I figure with that power from the motor being wielded by a Ford Cobra-R T-5 (Rated to 500 ft/lbs) and given to her 9" legs with a set of 3.70 or 3.89 gears to get her sneakers moving - her drivetrain will be virtually bulletproof and... relatively fast on the street

Nice - 4300 for 375/375 - that should be enough to **** off those GM's! Anyone buy from Keith Craft?

If Joe Da Silva uses their motors... I don't see why I shouldn't. Thanks for all the info peeps!
