Too many factors involved to answer your question. Explain further. Understand, we don't allow trolling questions here. Your's sounds very much like a trolling question.

Trolling? Atomsk is here quite a bit Glen. Anyways When driving a classic mustang, gas mileage cant be considered. It is always gonna be pretty bad.

I would say the 351 is going to get worse, just because its pulling more fuel into it to feed the extra cubes. Thats if gearing and everything else was exactly the same though.

yea, easy Glen. that doesn't sound like a trolling question. Just a honest question some people wouldn't know. I would also assume a 351 would get worse gas mileage, but HEY dont worry about it. They are all so bad 4-5 mpg difference isn't anything.

Mines not really that bad. It will get about 18 or a little better on the highway. 2.73 rearend.
My daily driver, a 1970 F100, is bad. It gets about 9 mpg on a good day. I go through a lot of gas in a week.

lol, you got a 289, and a REAL HIGH Rearend. That is strickly a highway gear... like mine. I have a 2v 289 auto with a 2.80 rear end. I get 16-17 with a light foot.

Yeah, It's really too high for here in the mountains where I live, but it does help mileage out a lot. I'd like to get a lower gear.

yea, sry, i had posted this then ran off to work, but yea. me and my dad were thinking about overhauling our 302 in our 71 fastback and getting a turnkey 350HP 351W. and somewhere, my dad got the idea that the 351 had better gas mileage, and my one chevy friend says his 350 in his corvette gets the best, even though its a gas guzzler. so i was just seeing what everone else thought.

o yea, BTW, my name is matt, and i will be on here more, hopefully with a 67/68 coupe that im going to start to restore before college, and i will most likely have a bunch more questions.
