Default 69 A/c Dash Vent

Anyone know how the vent in the middle of the dash, above the radio is supposed to stay in.... About 6 inches into the dash is a wired frame thing but it does not come anywhere near the space where the vent would actually be... THANKS

When I bought my factory replacement dash back in 1987 for my Mach, I had to cut out that hole to fit in my center ac vent. I was careful to cut the hole a little on the small side so that he vent fit very snug because I didn't see any other way of supporting it or holding it in place. Hope this helps.

heres what it looks like I am starting to think(dread) that it is suppose to be closer but the damn thing wont budge and that the reason it wont is because it is fiberglassed where its at.
