Is it possible...?
To warn anyone who reads this I am a noob to old cars. I recently got a 66 mustang I6. My problem is that it has the landau/soft top and it look like there is rust bubling underneath it. I was wondering if it is possible to mod a soft top into a convertible? If not I could try to fix the soft top, but I am not a big fan of them and would prefer either a hard top or no top. Any suggestion?

It sounds like you are talking about a vinyl top. If you can see the rust bubbles coming through the vinyl, then you need to get that vinyl cover off to assess the damage. A good body shop can probably repair it if it is not too far gone.
If you want just a regular painted top you can just leave the vinyl off. It would take too much work to convert one to a convertable, and probably more money than it would cost to just go out and find you one that needs restoring.

if you really want a "convertable" www.mustangdepot.com has a kit to make you a hard top retractable (non power). but like soaring said take the cover off and take care of the rust.

I agree don't mod to a convertible, to much $$ and never will be an original if you ever decide to sell it you will have a difficult time finder a buyer, replace the vinyl top or take it out and paint the top..I think that that looks better..my personal opinion
