Anyone see this about the 302 head swap that throws on an extra 100hp?

The only thing I think you would need to be worried about is the spark plug angle. I found that out the hard way on a pair of world products 185cc heads and hooker headers. [:@] Other than that, theres no reason they shouldnt bolt up just fine.

Dollar for dollar heads are the BEST upgrade to ANY motor. Trick Flow also makes some REALLY good heads (IMO), they also do REALLY good port work. Most aftermarket head companies raise the exhaust port 3/4" to help improve flow, so another thing you gotta watch out for is to make sure your exhaust is going to line up. a good example of the spark plug angle differences is to find a good picture of the gt40 and gt40"P" heads. the "P" heads wont work, unless youre headers are designed to fit them. your best bet would be to call hooker and ask if your head/header combo will jive together.

 

That is the article that got me to buy my heads. Was going to do the AFR's but I got a great deal on the Trick Flows.
