If you reuse your old timing cover and matching wp and other pulleys, you should be able to use your old pump.

You kinda lost me there. If you remove the timing cover from a long block you have a long block without a cover. That's it. You would have to remove the heads to have a short block. You don't have to change heads to change timing covers. I understand what you mean about staying with the sepantine setup. If you do that, you'll need a pump from a serpantine year Ford. Does that make any sense?

well yeah i understand you dont have to take off the heads to remove the timing cover and w/p its i just want to stay with the waterpump it came with so i can run a serpintine. I asked march pullys and they said i need a 71-95 (omit 77 for some reason) p/s pump and i can get a pump no prob i just dont know if i buy a 95 pump that it will higher pressure that it will ruin my 66 control valve and power cylinder.
