Power steering pump
hey guys i have a new 302 ford motorsport engine and i had a p/s pump and i called up march pullys and they said i have to use a 71-76 or a 78-95 p/s pump. my question is, are these pumps to high flow for my 66 control arm and p/s set up? no body knows that i call so if someone knows it would sure help thanks
yeah i thought about going back to v-belts but i want to switch over to a serpintine belt. i dont relly want v-belt because i would have to take off what is already on so i would just have a shortblock when what i bought was a longblock. ohh man why couldnt ford be more helpfull, they just say ummmm is it a 06? hate them well thanks guys let me know....
You kinda lost me there. If you remove the timing cover from a long block you have a long block without a cover. That's it. You would have to remove the heads to have a short block. You don't have to change heads to change timing covers. I understand what you mean about staying with the sepantine setup. If you do that, you'll need a pump from a serpantine year Ford. Does that make any sense?
well yeah i understand you dont have to take off the heads to remove the timing cover and w/p its i just want to stay with the waterpump it came with so i can run a serpintine. I asked march pullys and they said i need a 71-95 (omit 77 for some reason) p/s pump and i can get a pump no prob i just dont know if i buy a 95 pump that it will higher pressure that it will ruin my 66 control valve and power cylinder.
