Hi, I was planning on changing my 2 barrel to a 4 barrel on a 68 mustang with a 289, but I was just told that the 2 barrel actually has more power than a 4 barrel. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not??
At the very least you will get better gas milage out of the 4v as long as you keep your foot out of it as soon as you hit those secondaire the milage is gone
I DO know that the 4v engines have more compression than the 2v engines. The heads are the same on both engines, but in the 4v 289 it has less of a dish than the 2v heads...the HiPo has plain ol flat top pistons...I don't know of the cam differences between 2v and the 4v though...
