I have a 4 row on mine and live in hot Texas. Since the 4 row that you have is new, I think I would put that puppy in there.

while your at it, a electric fan will give you back some hp and you wont need a fan shoud. they are kinda built into them. And you dont have to worry about getting a finger caught by the fan blades if your timing your engine or anything like that.

That's true sarge, but not only do you have to buy the electric fan, you have to upgrade your alternator. I believe, if my memory serves me right, that I spent less than 30 bux for my shroud. And, with the 6 blade mechanical fan, I am running cool as a cucumber even with the air on.

shoot i wish i was a sgt. just a lcpl. i hate taking orders from people way younger than me. but thats what i get for enlisting late. no prob though.

anyways soaring is correct, also. a good mech fan and shroud will keep your car cool just as well. im just going that route due to the hp gain, which isnt much, and the style. im going with the restomod route. i love stock cars, but its not my style. can a water pump wear out sooner with a mech fan on there? i mean it shouldnt if the fan is good, but say that there is a bent blade and you dont notice it? wont the bearings notice it? if so im sure it would take along time for that to happen, but could it still?

Yeah, you will gain a little horsepower, but then you lose some by making the alternator work harder if you don't upgrade to one over 70 amps. Interesting thought about the water pump bearing wearing out faster with a bent fan blade. Never heard that.......

You are not going to be looking inside your water pump, so how it looks inside is a moot point. If the bearing is worn out, just chunk it and buy a new pump. I don't understand the aura about keeping the original worn out pump. There ain't nobody going to notice the difference. Heck, even Concours judges don't worry about water pumps.
