Default Proper carb cleaning?

Ok, so I did alot of work yesterday for my car, but the main thing was sitting the 351 down in her. I have a carb for it, the factory 625 (correct?) but its not to clean. It has all the parts, hoses, filter, whatnots, its just that its been sitting in a corner along time and has cobwebs and gritty junk in it. Whats the best way to clean it up? Can I sit it in the parts washer for a bit?

I figure Ill try to clean it up and then see if it works before I buy a new one or get it rebuilt to try and save some money...

You can use some Berryman's Chemtool cleaner. Put the carb in a bucket or pot and soak it for several hours. It should come out super clean. I would go ahead and get a kit for it, then tear it down and soak all the parts. Kits are cheap.
