Default New Hoses Didnt Fix Problem....

ok i just got new radiator hoses and tightened them as tight as they will go and still there is dripping and leaking....these arent even the junky hose i used to have, these are good, molded, ones from the loca NAPA autoparts......

i think theres just so much pressure built up the in the radiator it needs a way out...is there supposed to be a vent or something or no???i know th ecap has a vent but that shouldnt be left up......i dono it just seems weird it keeps leaking out.....

Check the radiator to make sure the round thing is perfectly round. Your cap may be rated too high. Make sure it is no more than a 13 pounder.

Try a new 13 pounder first, and if that doesn't make a difference, consider either taking your rad to a shop to have the tube rounded, or get a new rad.

well im going to get a 13 pounder right now....if it dosent work....i know i will have enough for a new one from graduation money but i was hoping to buy other stuff first....whats cheaper....coolant every few weeks or a radiator....lol.....

id prob just get a new one....nice aluminum one hopefully the new cap just works though...id rather get a new radiator in the future when i want to get my engine compartment detailed and block repainted and stuff after my car gets painted....

ok i got one and it didnt really do anything....it sure does look a lot nicer though!

i have a idea.....is there supposed to be a gasket between the intake manifold and waterneck that the radiator hose attaches to??? cuz as for as i can see, there isnt one....and that looks like the likely place for the liquid to be dripping out.....

let me know...thanks.
