I recommend getting a crane hi energy cam, itll help it breathe better, make more power. Id Imagine with that setup you might be around the 300 range, but that all depends on the heads, valve diameter, intake runner volume.

And you can get away with 10:1 CR depending on your cam. Just don't get too radical...the secret is in the cam.

my cleve had 10.2:1 i ran premium would ping once in a while. it would pull the front left tire off the ground with an open rear and 3:1 gears!! i would recommend some aussie heads if ur gonna build the engine up they are a lot less likely to detonante with the quench chamber!

thats the cam i used in my engine it has the bleed down lifter so it keeps ur idle streetable! worked good i wanted a little larger cam though for my app. i used the stock valves and one of them broke make sure ur using a one piece valve i had to have a cylinder sleeved because of this and buy a new piston!

mach1wade,
Are you sure about the intake you have? I didn't think edelbrock made a torquer for the v2 clevelands on the v4? I know they just started making the RPM air gap for the v2 clevelands.

Sounds like a good build, what trans do you have? I am planing a rebuild on my v2 cleveland this coming winter and I am looking at the Comp Magnum 270H cam Since it is advertised as the largest that can be used with a stock converter. Converters for an FMX tranny cost a ton and I just had the tranny rebuilt last spring with a new converter at that time.

Jes you will like that cam. I ran one in a 4V back around 1987, headers and a dual plane intake with a 750 carb will wake that thing up.

The current 2V has an XE274, once the car is back together I will let you know how well it does.
