Whats the prime year for a Mustang?
...not that I voted for 65 but....65 ROCKS! They are the bestest mustangs ever. However, that question is kinda a hard one. The 64-66 are (were) really more pony cars (with the exception of 350r and 350) not real huge mean street machines, unlike the 68-70 cars. 67...I really dont know much about them and 71-73 I personally dont care for, but it is my understanding that they had toned down engines and massive bodies.
1976 Mustang Ghia, 4 cylinder Automatic....with leaky "T" tops. OH yeah, and disco rocks!

There were, and still are, so many awesome Mustangs, all through the years (well OK lets skip the Pinto-Trotting Pony years...for the most part).
GTs, Shelbys, Mach1's, Boss', Saleen's, Roush, Back to Shelby, hell even Hertz is getting back in on the act.
It's like Ground Hog day, only it lasts for a decade at a time.
What a country! [sm=americanasmiley.gif]
