so i'm looking to buy a fan to go with my new radiator but um not sure were to go.... electric or mechanical (and if i go mechanical i will go flex-a-light. what is a fan clutch for) if i go electrical were should i buy one i couldn't find one on summit. (68 coupe)

any more help because i'm going to go with the mechanical flex-a-light unless some one tells me different (with a good reason) i still don't know what a fan clutch is for

HEY! I resemble that remark! I am not a fan (no pun intended) of the electric fans unless you have a race car set-up. The clutch fans work better than the flex fans at highway speeds. The reason for the clutch, is that at highway speeds the fan is not turning using power from the crank, saving you gas mileage and a little bit of horsepower. 70 MPH air coming through your radiator is more than enough to cool the water in the rad. The flex fans still use crank power to turn, but they just flatten out at highway speeds so don't draw air. Get the clutch fan.

Sure....Flex-A-Lite is just a name brand. They carry clutch fans and clutches as well.
I couldn't get their link to post here, but just go to their site and see for yourself.
