The 65 sounds it mit be ok, but made sure to check the floor pans and especially the cowl it is a bitch to replace and is the most common repair needed on these old stangs. The trunck is some what aof an easy inexpencive repair I replace mine when I replaced both rear quarter skins.

the lh floor pan has sheet metal srewed into it a easy patch? im guessing the trunkfloor extension panels needs to replaced as well the cowl is completly shot. it looks his ex filled it with buckshot. im not a real big fan of replacing the cowl i just finished patching my 66. i might use it as a parts car though

In that case I think I would pass unless it had enough good parts I needed to justify the price. The parts car i used I paid $800.00 for and the main resson I bought it was for the motor. The parts I had left that I didn't want are now on ebay and looks like I mit actually made money on the deal.

i only paid 700 for my car and he previous owner gave us all the panels and sheetmetal he had. it didnt have an interior and we had to bend the butterfly on the carb raw metal+ 15 years outside=RUST EVERWHERE. the only good things which i can use is the pass door and keep the interior, hood, and deck lid. if i had a 289 i could use the whole car but i have a i6
