Another project today
I took the back bumper off to inspect for rust behind it. Well, I found some. Sanded it, then hit it with a primer, then have the first coat of color on it. Tomorrow she gets another coat. I'm tellin' ya guys. Rust raises its' nasty head in the darnest places. Places you can't even see.

I usually do a visual about once a week or so. It is just something we old Mustang owners have to do to assure a rust free car. And, every time there is a parking lot ding, I repair it immediately.
Unfortunately, not all paint jobs include all the nooks and crannies. This is just a weak spot where the paint job didn't prep and cover well. Also, if it is behind things like bumpers where you can't reach with wax, it will eventually get some surface rust. Dust, and water, even though it may be just car washing water, will eventually eat away at the paint if not cleaned.
Of course. I also had some in the typical places like the botton front corners of both doors. I also had some at the back window molding area. That is why I had my car totally stripped, replaced with new metal, then repainted.
