How do you guys know...???
i took auto mechanics in college and im now completing my auto body class i only have one semester left andim currently on work study. but i think im gonna save up some money so i can go to law school then ill have plenty of money to play with my toys!
well, i used to work for free at my friends parents body shop, i learned basics there, then my dad teaches me alot, and then of course i pick up alot of stuff on here all the time. im still learning alot too.
I was even more basic, after spending 30 years tinkering on my mustang; I was bound to learn a few things. And when I did not know the answer, I had to find someone who did.
This forum makes it allot easer to find out an answer to a question/problem, more so then it was before the internet.

Ive been tinkering with stuff ever since I was about 5years old, took apart my first bicycle. Since then went to motorcycles, then cars at 13. I just couldnt believe that people drive these tin cans everyday and NOT know how they work. Blows my mind. Anyway, I learned most of it out of neccessity, when I got my first car (79 5.0 Ghia sport), it needed a lot of work. So I got a service manual and taught myself how to fix it. Im a certified tech now. Im planning on opening my own shop within the next 5 years...... Gotta save up the $$$ first. Itll mainly be a repair facility, but we'll offer custom stuff too.

I learned enough to get started at a base hobby shop. Most of what I've learned recently has been through books and the internet. You would be amazed what you can do by carefully reading instructions. (I know instructions are for sissies. )
