Default jacking up the car

ok, so when i was removing the seats today (finally) i noticed some indents in 3 places on the passenger side floorpan, none went through just flattened it, looks like the junky floorjack they had and used then gave to me was to jack it up at the Rocker panels ONLY, and they jacked it up on the frame and looks like they did it too high or not correctly, cause this is the worst damage this jack did.

im gunna have to weld a patch over that arn't I?

Get you some metal about that thick, and weld in a new piece to not only cover the hole, but to strengthen that spot. And, don't use a bottle jack to jack up a Mustang. Don't use the frame rail to jack it up anyhow.

thanks, i dont understand why people cant read directions sometimes, it even says n the jack "warning, jacking up car not in the specified spot can cause serious damage to the car." then theres a diagram to show exactly where to jack it up.

ON EDIT: would getting some sub-frame connectors help too?, theres no rot, just grime, and this hole.

Sub frame connectors would certainly make that unibody more rigid, therefore make it stronger, and it will have less twist in turns., If you can afford the connectors and have welding skills, then go for it. If not, then at least patch that spot.

i have one of those "pro" type ones, just smaller. and i usually jack it up from the pumpkin or the frame near the front suspension, i messed up a car good using the scissor jack where it was supposed to be used and have never used them since. i had to change a flat on my topaz and i put the scissor jack into place where it was supposed to go. jacked the car up had to go all the way cause i had no clearance and when i got done i looked at it and the pinch weld was totally screwed! all distorted and pinched from the jack!

subframe connectors arent too expensive, im gunna add them to the list of things to do... at the end of september, after all my other projects have been finished.

OK - so I don't forget next time - where am I supposed to jack up the car from the front?
