Battery Hold Down Clamp installation
I don't know about the others, but I was certainly kidding about the bungie. Buy the right tray, or battery, whatever. If you nickel and dime that, what it say about the rest of your car???? 20 bucks to get it right. Come on dude! [sm=badidea.gif]
A new battery isn't 20 bucks though. A Ford Motorcraft is like 100 bucks. I will get it when I get the chance. Don't worry. I am not a redneck. I take pride in my vehicle and want it to look right. I just have to get by until I get the money for a new battery. Thanks again guys.
There you go man... Keep as cool as you can... Face piles of trials with smiles... It riles them to believe that you percieve the web they weave! [sm=pimp.gif]
Nice car. Good to know you are not going to jeopardize it with, well...a bungie! [sm=smiley20.gif]

You may be able to get by temporarily with a battery hold down that hooks to the bottom of the tray with two long bolts , then comes up over the top side of the battery and there is a square angle iron thing that the bolt goes through and tightens down the battery.
I would suggest that if you go with a bungee chord, get a strong one. I have unfortunatly lost a battery off of the tray which hit my cooling fan. Battery acid will eat paint, chrome valve covers and air cleaner and make a brand new Edelbrock carb look 100 years old. Not to mention the wasted 80 dollars I had just spent for the new battery. It was a hard lesson learned.
Or, something like this.
