I couldn't find anything classic sound; I did find a website custom auto sound. Prices seem a little reasonable, anyone do any business with these guys?
yeah, that's it. sorry bro. i haven't done any business with anyone yet, least of all non-performance orientated stuff. i'll skimp on the creature comforts until it's mechanically sound!

I haven't used their radio, but a lot of guys don't give their sound equipment a very high rating. When it comes to sound equipment, you definitely get what you pay for. I would stick with JVC or Jensen and Panasonic.

my dad put one in his 67. They suck. Sound is crappy, and it burned up. Looked good though.

I'm possibly going to use and wire an original AM/FM as a (volume and track/seek adjusting) "remote" to (perhaps) the eclipse Cd8445, located in a "discreet" location (In a "console" that extends to the floor from the radio area)... Anyway, supposedly 'tis the last 8volt output they will make. I think that idea may quite possibly be moderately nifty. Just for fun, here's a fiberglass radio panel I made for someone at focusfanatics. It's going to be resanded, and refinished. Looks horrid because I used no sandable primer, and I decided not to spend any more time dripdropping resin. Shortcuts always backfire. =) http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...oragecs/01.jpg

Original 65-67 AM radios typically go for under $20 on eBay. Most people want modern equipment.

yes, but do they work?

i'll prolly end up following Glen's advice and just straight up upgrading the system anyway. i want s good quality sound coming out of my car. since my exhaust will be loud enough to blow the clothes off of women, i will need an even louder stereo![sm=devilgrin.gif][sm=devilgrin.gif][sm=devilgrin.gif][sm=devilgrin.gif][sm=devilgrin.gif][sm=devilgrin.gif]

The ones that work and look good are a whole lot more than $20. I have been checking on and off periodically, and bid as much as $50 and still got outbid.

You might try these guys. I haven't used them, so can't vouch for them.
