has anyone else ran classic plates on there cars?

 

i bought a 65 georgia plate for 2$ im gonna paint it and put it on my car if u can find a 66 ga plate u can drive with it in ga jessie ill post a pic of mine in a min the junkyard i go to has tons of vintage plates im gonna go and try to buy more

 

I've got a set on my daily driver and on my mustang. They are just the same as regular plates, you just have to make sure the number isn't being used and just keep your stickers in the glove box.

 

right now the plate is in acid etch primer it supposed to be white with blue letters im not sure if the 66 ga plates look the same? heres the link to the ga law on them http://www.legis.state.ga.us/cgi-bin...code=40-2-41.1

 

in ga they dont have to be registered to the car i dont beileve! just gotta carry the real ones with u and keep the reg

 

In NC you can run vintage plates as long as you have valid NC plate in vechicle

 

well i bought a plate from a swap meet but when i was painting it the paint ran it was a hot muggy day. the tag is clear it hasnt been ran in 20 years. its on my front valance and its a Georgia tag red with white letters. well now its springtime yellow with black letters. i would like a matching set of 66 georgia tags

 

Wow, In VA the classic plates ARE your plates. You're technically supposed to put the new stickers on them, but it's not enforced.

 

i think in ga you can have the year plate as your car i think you have to go to the tag office and show them all the paper work. does anyone know where i can buy some 1966 georgia tags?

 

swap meets or a junkyard with some old cars ask the workers if they have any old plates!
