i have a tag on my shock tower on the d/s. it's covered with black paint so i really can't tell what it is, but i assume that it some sort of production code. working on peeling the paint off and finding out what the hell it is!

i didn't realize the door tag had the vin, i thought it was just the car code, eng, trans, int, paint, ect.

The warranty number is the VIN. That is on the door tag, under the hood on the driver's side inner fender on top next to the shock tower, under the passenger's side fender but you have to take the fender off, and of course, on the Title.

that's why i couldn't find it! i was told it was on the tower NEXT to the fender!

any clue what that sticker i have on my d/s tower might be, Glen?

Sticker? As in paper sticker? Shouldn't be any sticker there. Maybe someone put one there to remind them when to change the oil or something. Now, the VIN will be stamped into the metal on the top of the inner fender on the Driver's side close to the shock tower. Get a wire brush and scrub off the old paint, then you will see it. It should match the warranty number on your door.

You will notice a notched area where the fender and inner fender meet. That is where it is. I will include a pic here.

thanks Glen. i just checked and i think it's been painted over or something. almost looks like a weld mark thru where the cut out is and i can't see anything under the fender behind it. no big tho.

as per my sticker, just says something about the coolant and crankcase ventilation. i was only able to un cover about 1/2 of it.

It's foil or mylar and it is a standard information sticker. Thay are on every Mustang coming down the line. Here is a picture of what it should look like...at least this is what I think you are looking at.
