sanity check - 68 fastback pricing
Welcome to the forum Joe. I am also in NH, in the Lakes Region. The car is a nice find for the dough. I"m in the middle of a restoration on my 69 Mach. I found a metal refinisher online in Deering. He specializes in media blasting and panel replacement. His prices seem fair and if you would like to know how to get a hold of him let me know.
I paid 4K for my 65 coupe 10 years ago. So, 28 hundred for a 68 fastback is a very good price. Since then, I have put about 8K in mine, but it started out as basically a rust free car. Depending on the mods you put in it, and if you do all the work yourself, you can probably get by with around 10K more for a good looking solid daily driver. Now, if you start adding horsepower, you will get to 20K in a hurry. Good luck with the project, and keep us posted.
Yup, keep us posted on you're progress.. I have a coupe and already have $15,000 in it including the price of the car.

there is a 67' down here in a junkyard in tewksbury, ma. im not 100% sure that the front rails are good, but i can check them out the next time i go for parts. thats a little bit of a drive for you, but if they are good and the place will let them go for cheap it might be worth it.

Carl I would appreciate it so much if you could look into that the next time you are there. If the price is right and the rails are good it'll be worth the drive to pick them up. I know for sure I need to replace the right and left rails from the torquebox back I'll get a better look at the fronts this afternoon.
Thanks, she's a good looker.. Turns heads all the time.. The paint is an amateur job, 10 footer I would say.. She is going in the shop for a repaint in the fall. Same color just a professional job and about 5 coats of clear.. The good thing the last owner did prior to paint was taking it down to metal. So, there's not much body work to do, just some minor filling to get the surface smooth..
In about 30 days she will have a brand new 289 with about 350hp hooked up to an AOD.. Can't wait [sm=bounceybounce.gif]
