Default '68 drum to disc questions

I own a '68 Fastback, 289, 3 speed. I currently have drum brakes, but would like to convert to disc brakes. I have seen conversion kits at about $1000. Is there a cheaper way for me to do this??

Thanks for your time.

going and pulling them off an old car is cheaper but I personally hate dealing with used parts

Go with the Granada swap. I just did it on mine and have about $350 all together in it, but I found my spindles at the junkyard.

Or, you could contact Dennis. His parts are all new, and a lot less than most others.

Yeah, buying the new is great too. It's a very easy swap. I did mine in one saturday.

i have a 70 302 with 4 wheel drum brakes and also wanted to convert to disc. I know the kit from MP brakes for 800 is a little expensive, so i was looking around and found that mustang plus has alot of pieces for the granada swap http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant...y_Code=granada and i was thinking is that everything im going to need? and if so, later on if i wanted, could i be able to upgrade to power disc? i only ask because i want to have good stoping power to keep myself and others safe on the road, thankyou
