Default Racing Stripes

Hey i just got my mustang. It had a really nice pain job, but i really want a stripe mabe a black with a white strip or even just a plain black stripe on the current blue. I was wonderin how you think a plain black stripe would look goin down the middle of the hood and on the trunk? Heres a pic of the car tell me your honest opinions please! Mabe i was thinkin of gettin a new paint job a little later on but im not ready yet the current job looks very nice just not my color of choice. Just in case can i get a few reccomended paint job websites in califronia if you guys have any favorites? thanks i would probley just get the black stripe decal not actually paint it on.

I dunno man, I kinda feel the way you do about gettin stripes but my car has a viynl top too. I just dont think It would look too good with just the hood and then the trunk with the vinyl top. But ive never seen it, and until I do im not going to do that to my car. But if you do it post some pics! They have this mustang called a terlingua wich only has a stripe on the hood, normally a black car with a yellow stripe right down the middle of the hood and front valance. (or yellow with black stripe) It looks really cool. But I also dont know how that would look with a vinyl top! [:@] Good luck. Maybe some one can photo shop it for you? chopshop section?

Personally I think your car looks great just the way it is. If you were going to add any stripes, I would consider the GT model hood stripes. Subtle and original looking. They start at the turn signal bezels in the hood and back to the windshield only. Very nice look. But again. you car looks great the way it is.

the 68 gt hood stripes would look good, but those r decals, which i would suggest over it being painted on.

Vinyl roofed classics should not have stripes. Leave it alone.

your car looks good as it is, but if you want to put racing stripes you should consider in taking of the vinyl top...i really dont like how they look with stripes and vinyl...just my .02 cents

+1

If you like the look of the vinyl top, don't bother with the stripes. you got a clean car there, don't go crazy messing with it.

EDIT: i digress, it is your car so you may do as you please. as ponyboy said, if you really want the stripes, take the top off. the only downfall there is, most of our classics that had vinyl tops ended up with some rust under the top. it was good for trapping water.
