Default Recently purchased 71

Hi!

I purchased a 71 convertible just a few hours ago. While driving back home everything worked well with the exception of the headlamps. For some reason they started to go off and on randomly ((both of them at the same time). The slower I went, the faster they would go off an on. It is still random. I couldn't find any sequence, periodicity, or pattern to the issue.

Unfortunately I am new to Mustangs - What would you recommend me to check first?

Thank you!

Thank you both! I will try connecting the cables directly (not going trough the switch). If it works well, then I will get the new switch.

BTW, I will post pics soon

While you are at it, go ahead and clean all ground contacts associated with the headlight.

Classic Fords have some issues with corroded connections, it would be a good idea to clean and dialectric grease all the connections you can find. Also wiring a relay for the lights so all the power doesnt go through the switch will make your headlights brighter and consistent. There was a thread about it a while back on here, Glen isnt it in the FAQ? If that link isnt, it should be..

Thanks goes to Charles for coming up with that link for the relay. I'll stick her in the FAQ.
