Sorry Stephen. I had to correct a few things in your post so that it made sense.

Yeah, why not just go to the local autoparts store and buy you some lines, a double flaring tool ($20) and put them on there. A heck of a lot cheaper that prebent stainless lines.

So that tool, bends, and flares the lines??? I always wanted to get one. I might do that.

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd add my $0.02 here since I did replace my lines last year on my '65 (with stainless - of course!) - they were rotted out. My car spent the majority of it's life in Florida but has since come to wonderful Wisconsin. For those lucky enough to live in year round driving climates, that means we have a few things to deal with, snow, SALT, storage, etc. I don't plan on ever having to drive in the winter but who knows. Additionally, I'm lucky enough to have indoor storage on a cement pad at this point but it might happen that at some point I'll have indoor dirt floor storage (or less). Also, although I plan to still be around in 40 years, my guess is that my son (4 months, or other future child-pic with his 1st Mustang) will have my car. I'm planning on at least riding in a car that has not ever had to have it's brake lines replaced since I did it.

Bob

Ah all last night I was thinking about my car, getting fluids replaced and the brakes attended to and I remembered this thread...I was gonna ask if stainless are really neccessary but I see someone beat me to it, and added facts about it..

Yeah, the fact is that they are not necessary.

it's not necessary, but they look better, and dont rust, corrode, etc. I'll probably spend the extra $7, and hope it doesn't leak somewhere.
