ive been cutting it off with a 4-1/2" grinder and then welding the roof skin to the bottom piece of metal. thats the easy part. the grinding of it down after with the D/A with 40 grit paper is not fun.

im still thinking of a way to get it to be straight without building the edge up with body filler.

Go to the FAQ section and get that article about replacing the rear quarter panels. They use lead and some sort of other stuff to smooth it out. You shouldn't have to use much body filler.

thanks soaring,

i should hopefully be getting to the filler within an hour or two. it does look pretty cool without the drip rail.

its the closest thing to metal u can add short of leading the surface which would be the perferred method if u apply it properly then it will nit allow water and u can build up the surface slightly

thanks,
ill go check to see if i can get some of that from my local store today before work. i guess it doesnt look too bad, its just almost impossible to get the edge completely straight using a d/a.
