Mistery Sound Solved
Over the last week or so I started hearing an intermitent metal tapping sound. Yesterday it got worse and became constant. I started going through the different senarios it could be. I just got the car back on the road about 6 weeks ago after a valve job and new intake and carb. Started getting depressed thinking it could be bad, I figured it was probably related to the valves, did not want to have to take the heads off again and take them back to the machine shop.
Good news When I took off the valve cover... what's this?.... one of the rocker arms had rotated and sliped off the valve spring. I readjusted all the valves and started her up. Looks like the problem is solved. It's nice when you find a obvious problem that can be fixed.
The mustang forum had given me the confidence to do the work myself. It's good to have a bunch of motor heads working together to watch your back.
Hopefully the shifted rocker arm won't be a problem in the future.
I was also following the shelby thread, I think this is the easiest way for me to get a 67 shelby

That's the only way I will ever own a Shelby too. I have quite a collection of die-cast muscle cars and old antiques. I love old cars.
We seem to be getting a little off track here. I am very pleased you found the problem and got it fixed. That has to be a good feeling. Now, back to the die-cast cars.
Here is my favorite out of the many that I own. '56 Ford Sunliner Vert. Oh Yeah!
