Default Interior wrinkle paint?

Will someone please explain the process to reporduce the "wrinkle" paint pattern on the interior of the doors on a 66 stang? Is it hard to reporduce? Is there a different term used to describe the pattern? Thanks

I don't know another term. However, I believe the metal itself is textured. You have to be careful not to sand down the texture if removing the old paint. Also, if they have been sprayed before on top of original paint, the paint buildup can flatten out the texture as well. So the paint will have to be removed to get the texture back. I would think a non-abrassive method such as a liquid stripper would be the best method.
Good luck.

The wrinkle is the metal not the paint

Thanks a lot. I had a suspicion that it wasn’t the paint but wanted to check. Can you recommend a stripper? (the paint kind )

I used some on a motorcyle once. It was in an aerosol can and very easy to use. Krylon OFF

If you know how to paint you can acheive texture by turning down the air pressure in your gun on the second coat. It is a technique that requires some experimentation and practice.

the aircraft stripper would probably also work, whicher one's cheaper would be fine.
